Which Anderson Plug Do You Need?

SB50 Connectors

SB50 connectors are commonly used for 4WD accessories, caravans, camper trailers, portable solar panels, dual-battery systems and portable battery boxes.

Check the housing colour, cable size and compatible contacts before ordering.

SB175 Connectors

SB175 connectors suit larger battery systems, chargers, machinery and other applications using heavier cables and higher current.

Both sides of the connection must use compatible SB175 housings and contacts.

SB350 Connectors

SB350 connectors are used for forklifts, heavy machinery, large battery systems and demanding high-current industrial applications.

Confirm the cable size, terminal size and complete circuit requirements before installation.

Check Before Ordering

Anderson connector housings and contacts must be selected as compatible components. A connector that looks similar may not connect if it belongs to another series or uses different mechanical keying.

If you are replacing an existing connector, inspect its markings and match the existing connector series and colour whenever possible.

  • System voltage
  • Maximum continuous and peak current
  • Existing connector series
  • Connector housing colour
  • Cable size in mm² or AWG
  • Compatible contact or terminal size
  • Installation location
  • Required covers or mounting accessories

Why Does Anderson Plug Colour Matter?

Anderson SB housings use colour and mechanical keying to help identify different circuits and prevent incompatible connectors from being joined accidentally.

Two connectors from the same SB family may still be incompatible if their housing colours or keying arrangements differ. When replacing an existing connector, match both the connector series and housing colour.

Anderson Plug Accessories

The connector is only one part of a reliable installation. Depending on where the plug will be fitted, you may also need compatible contacts, a protective cover, handle, rubber boot, flush mount or mounting housing.

Protective covers help keep dirt and contamination away from unused contacts. Handles make frequently used connectors easier to disconnect without pulling directly on the cable. Flush mounts can provide a cleaner installation on a vehicle, canopy, caravan or equipment panel.
